Frequently asked questions

How many bedrooms and bathrooms are there?

Four fully equipped bedrooms and three bathrooms: two inside the house and one more outside by the pool, so nobody walks in dripping. The house is about 220 m² on a plot of over 2,500 m², and it is always rented whole, for up to 8 guests.

Is there air conditioning?

No, and it doesn't need it. Villa Fuji sits in the Sierra de la Pandera, where the microclimate keeps the house comfortable even in the hottest months. At night you sleep with the window open.

Is there heating?

Yes. The house has central heating and a wood-burning fireplace in the living room for winter evenings.

Are there restaurants nearby?

Less than a minute from the house is Mesón Asador La Pandera: mountain cooking — salmorejo with Jaén olive oil, lamb chops, kid goat in garlic, venison stew, seasonal wild mushrooms — and a list of local wines. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 12:00 to midnight, closed Mondays. Bookings on +34 953 32 14 85.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, and at no extra charge. Write to us before booking and tell us how many and how big, so we can get everything ready.

Is it a house for families with children?

Yes. This is not an adults-only property: there's a trampoline, table tennis, a volleyball net and plenty of garden to run in. We only ask that children are never left alone by the pool.

When is the pool open?

From mid-May until late September or early October, depending on the weather. It stays closed the rest of the year.

Is the house good for cyclists?

It's one of the reasons people come back. Villa Fuji is a cyclist-friendly establishment: locked bike store, wash area and a repair stand with professional tools. And you sleep at the foot of La Pandera, a Vuelta a España summit finish. Bikes can also be rented through Via Bike, our local partner.

How do I get there? Do I need a 4×4?

You don't. It is paved all the way to the gate and easy to reach in any car — a van or a bike trailer included. You climb from Los Villares on the Sierra de la Pandera road: about 15 minutes from the village, half an hour from Jaén city.
